rosin press calibration problem

Hello !
I recently put together a 10 ton press and a plates and controller kit from Amazoo and it work real nice .
The only problem I have is the controller doesn't give me the same temp reading as the actual plates temp.
( about 20 degrees difference ) My controllers are the XMT7100 Series .
Is there away to calibrate those controllers to match the actual temp. ? In the papers that came with it , they talk about self-tuning ,but I didn't understand a thing in their electronic gibberish ....
