Freeze Drying rosin....Can it be done?

My wife and I do a lot of pickling/freezing our garden crops each year and I'm thinking about investing in a freeze dryer ($$$$) to extend our ability to store our harvest through the winter.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with freeze dryers and also wondering about the concept of using one to freeze dry some very sappy rosin to see if I can get it to sugar or crystallize.
